Poem: hello stars

6 inklings - saturday

hello stars
she asked why
a picture keeps me awake at night
the moments though
with cold fingers
the grinning face
the light switch already on
something locked inside
i start to drift
a dream alone
feet dangling out of the covers
the muffled sounds
of the last man on Earth.

The above is a poetry experiment, i.e. a demonstration to suggest that poetry can come from anywhere and anything, even simple phrases constructed and phrased differently. Words from this poem was taken from the Thought Catalog post on “40 Freaking Creepy Ass Two Sentence Stories” by Michael Koh. You can try it yourself by taking a random article and using random phrases, sentences or words to form a poem that may not have an initial direction, but takes the mood of the piece and creates itself eventually.

Till next time!
