Weekly Update: Take Back the Night, For Good and Kick-Ass 2

7 the rest - sunday

I’ve been a real night owl this week, so maybe it’s appropriate that I start my weekly favourites with this …

1. Song of the Week: “Take Back the Night” – A Minecraft Original Music Video

Watch the prequel, Fallen Kingdom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-sH53…

Modeling, rigging, animation, post production, and effects by Bootstrap Buckaroo
Animation by Slamacow Creations:
Animated, directed, and produced by CaptainSparklez:
Take Back the Night written and performed by TryHardNinja:
Audio production by Doc Exx:
Vocal production and editing by The Jerry Farley:

Really proud of all the above Youtubers, ’cause I think this is one of the first few original Minecraft music videos (i.e. those that don’t parody another song). I suggest you watch the prequel if you haven’t, otherwise the storyline of this might not make sense.

2. Youtube Video of the Week: For Good – Kristin Chenoweth & Sarah Horn – Hollywood Bowl

So the back story for this video is that Sarah Horn raised her hand voluntarily in the crowd as a fan of Wicked and when asked whether she knew the words to “For Good”, she said yes. And the rest can be seen on the video itself.

3. Movie of the Week: Kick-Ass 2

I didn’t really want to put up a trailer of the week … ’cause I didn’t really watch any trailers. But I did watch Kick-Ass 2 and, apart from some dodgy scenes and awkward acting bits, it was a solid follow up to the first one. And, despite its violence, I do believe it has an honest and real message behind it. But, you can watch it yourself to determine whether you agree with me. If you guys want a review, give me a shout out. Nowadays whether I do a review or not really depends on whether I’m in the mood to properly analyse a film. ‘Cause, if I want to do a review, it has to be to some standard (I’m a perfectionist).

Lastly, I know I haven’t been posting every day. It hasn’t been my intention to post every day lately. But I do hope that the content I do post up is something you enjoy.

So, I’ll see you next time! (I’m kind of starting to understand how – not ironic – but unsuitable that ending phrase is for a blog.)
