We’re at the double digits. Now, if it wasn’t embarrassing enough, sharing one guilty pleasure, I’m going to share a few cause I really couldn’t decide – plus I have a lot of unexplainable songs that I just search on Youtube from time to time. Just because it’s so addictive.
So, here we go:
1. The Last Unicorn – Dan Avidan and Brian Wecht
You can skip to around the 1:50 mark to actually listen to the song, cause Dan does a long explanation before the main song as to why he’s covering it. But yes this song basically ticks the list of embarrassing yet amazing songs that I just keep going back to lately. Actually, there was an entire week recently where I would wake up early in the morning and have this song in my head. And it was kind of sad that no one would probably understand me if I ever did sing this out loud cause it’s such a contextualised song. Another such song he sings that I am absolutely addicted to and regretfully know the lyrics to is Luigi’s Ballad.
2. Amnesia – 5 Seconds of Summer
I think I listened to a lot of covers of this before I listened to the original. But I absolutely love the original. Definitely a guilty pleasure cause I actually spent an entire week singing this in the shower. But it’s really not the kind of music I’ll admit I listen to – well, technically I just did. Another mainstream guilty pleasure would probably be “Break Free” by Ariana Grande ft. Zedd.
3. That Girl is Crafty – TryHardNinja
*Buries face in dirt block* I can’t, I really can’t help it or explain it. The lyrics, the tune – it’s just flippin’ catchy. Plus all those Minecraft puns. The embarrassment just grows and grows. But these songs, to me, are just so addictive and easy on the ears …
4. The Hero – Ministry of Magic
Probably another fandom group, but I absolutely love this song as well. They used to do Harry Potter related songs, but now I only follow Luke Conrad on Youtube. This song is (if you haven’t noticed already) one about Severus Snape. Other songs I’m addicted to by the band include “The Bravest Man I Ever Knew” and “Ascendio”.
5. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) – Michael Buble
Okay, so not really this song in particular. But just all Christmas songs. They’re such a huge guilty pleasure. And I can sing them any time of the year. They just make me warm and fuzzy.
So these are the five songs I wanted to share. If anything, they are representative of five different types of guilty pleasures I have. The first one is any song related to the Game Grumps whether it be Ninja Sex Party or Starbomb. The other are the mainstream songs that I hate to admit I love and listen to on repeat when there’s nothing else for me to listen to. The third is any song related to Minecraft – which is probably the zenith of my embarrassment. The fourth is any song related to the Harry Potter fandom – or really any fandom. And the last is Christmas songs. You play any song from these categories and I will hate myself for loving them so much – but still play them anyway.
